Esther Cronin.Name: Esther Cronin Agency: Nova
Height: 5’9″ How did you get into modelling and how long have you been doing it for?
My mom is with Nova. I went into the agency with her one day when she was going to get digis taken and was scouted. I booked my first job a week later – it was for Girlfriend magazine. That was three years ago. I’ve been lucky, I’ve worked quite a lot ever since. What has been your favourite job so far?
I did a shoot for Insight in Sydney which was awesome.
What do you love about modelling, and what do you hate about it?
I love the people. They’re so interesting and creative. I like having an insider knowledge on fashion and the fashion industry. The hardest thing about modelling is trying to stay skinny! There’s a lot of pressure, a lot of criticism and rejection.
If you weren’t modelling, what would you be doing?
I don’t know! Modelling takes over my life. I think I would probably be at University.
What would be your dream modelling job?
I’d love to book a luxury label campaign, or Italian Vogue, or the Victoria’s Secret show.
What’s the last thing you bought?
Probably a coffee.
Do you have a favourite colour?
I have two. Black and Yellow.
Favourite place in the world?
London. And Singapore. Oh, and Bondi, Sydney!
What’s something people wouldn’t necessarily know about you?
That I’m addicted to food. I love food so much. Also, that I’m an actor with Auckland Actors. I was on Shortland Street once (laughs). I played a girl who overdosed on mushrooms! Um… both of my parents were models. Oh! I know! I’m getting my braces off tomorrow! [Editors note: This interview took place on the 13th of February 2012]
What’s your plan after modelling? Do you have one?
Ideally I’ll do well in modelling and work overseas. After that I’d like to get back into acting more.
Can you draw?
Give it a go anyway. Draw me a picture of yourself in two years time:
This is Esther with Victoria's Secret Angel wings on.
