And Melanie Sykes oozed elegance as she made a stylish arrival to the third day of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships on Wednesday.

The brunette beauty, 47,  slipped her toned frame into a cream, lavender and fuschia floral maxi dress which she cinched in at her tiny waist with a black leather belt.

Her glossy locks were styled sleek and straight while her striking features were enhanced with peachy blush and taupe lipstick.

She accessorised with a pair of golden aviators and elegant gold hoop earrings.

Mel's outing came just a short while after she opened up about her son Valentino's battle with autism, which was diagnosed when he was just two-years-old.

She candidly admitted to The Mirror that, at the time, she 'couldn't cope' with his diagnosis and still has 'wobbles' occasionally, but is adamant that she will give her son, now 13, the independence to grow.

It dawned on Melanie that in the midst of trying to help her son, affectionately known as Tino, learn to communicate, she'd forgotten to teach him practical life lessons such as crossing the road.

She said: 'I've been trying to get him to talk, to communicate, and to enjoy his life and accept his autism. I have just forgotten some of the practical stuff as well.'    

Mel also has son Roman, 16, with ex husband Daniel Caltagirone.   

The star joined notable famous faces including  the Duchess of Cambridge's mother Carole Middleton and Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué, who sat side by side in the Royal Box, former rugby star Matt Dawson and chef Michel Roux Jr.

Royal Box regular Carole, 63, looked chic in an ivory frilled dress as she chatted with centre-back Gerard, 31, who sported a navy suit, fitted shirt and polka dot tie for the occasion.      

The Grand Slam tennis tournament kicked off on Monday, and was attended by Natalie Dormer, Ellie Goulding, Scarlett Moffatt, Emma Willis and Sir Cliff Richard.

They were joined by thousands of regular fans who queued for as long as 65 hours outside the grounds to ensure they could see the first day's action - although they missed out on watching Andy Murray, who pulled out of the tournament on Sunday.
